The RPG Darton-Sleeved Gen 3 5.0L Coyote Short Block is engineered to handle extreme power and high cylinder pressures while maintaining precision and reliability. Designed for competition-level performance, this short block is based on a brand-new Ford Gen 3 Coyote block that has been Darton sleeved and deck O-ringed for maximum strength and sealing integrity. Every engine is blueprinted, balanced, and assembled to RPG’s exacting standards to support up to 1500 wheel horsepower.

• Block: New Ford Gen 3 5.0L Coyote aluminum block, Darton sleeved and deck O-ringed

• Crankshaft: New Ford Boss 302 / Gen 2 forged crankshaft, micropolished

• Pistons: RPG Spec Ultra Series forged pistons – 3.640″ bore, 11:1 compression ratio

• Connecting Rods: Manley or Oliver billet steel I-beam connecting rods with ARP 2000 bolts

• Piston Rings: Total Seal piston ring set

• Bearings: Clevite coated rod and main bearings

• Hardware: ARP main studs and side bolts

• Oil Squirter Block-Offs: RPG Billet aluminum block-offs included

• Machining & Assembly: Block is fully machined for all critical clearances; rotating assembly is balanced and assembled to competition-level specifications

Compatibility Notes

• The Gen 1 and Gen 2 Coyote blocks are no longer available from Ford; RPG now builds all Coyote short blocks using the Gen 3 block, which maintains an 11:1 compression ratio matching the factory Gen 1/Gen 2 specification.

• The Gen 3 block is fully compatible with Gen 1 and Gen 2 cylinder heads and timing components.

• Head Gaskets: Must use the matching-generation head gaskets for your cylinder heads.

  • Example: Gen 3 short block with Gen 1 heads requires Gen 1 head gaskets.

• Head Studs/Bolts: Must use 12mm long head studs or OEM Gen 3 head bolts.

  • Gen 1 and Gen 2 head studs or bolts will not fit this block.
