The RPG Gen 3 5.0L Coyote Short Block is built to deliver unmatched strength, precision, and reliability for both street and track applications. Designed using brand-new OEM Ford components and assembled to RPG’s competition-level standards, this short block provides a proven 1200HP-rated foundation for high-performance Coyote, Voodoo, or Predator builds.

  • Block: New Ford Gen 3 5.0L Coyote aluminum block

  • Crankshaft: New Ford Boss 302 / Gen 2 forged crankshaft

  • Pistons: RPG Spec Series forged pistons – 3.662" bore, 11:1 compression ratio

  • Connecting Rods: Manley H-Tuff forged connecting rods with ARP 2000 bolts

  • Piston Rings: Total Seal piston ring set

  • Bearings: Clevite coated main and rod bearings

  • Hardware: ARP main studs and side bolts

  • Machining and Assembly: Block is fully machined for all critical clearances, rotating assembly balanced and assembled to competition-level specifications

  • Horsepower Rating: 1200 HP

  • Warranty: 6-month limited warranty

  • Build Time: 4–6 weeks

Shipping Information

  • A flat freight charge of $200.00 applies within the 48 contiguous United States.

  • Residential or liftgate delivery adds an additional $85.00.

  • Freight will be charged when the short block is completed and ready to ship.

Compatibility Notes

The Gen 1 and Gen 2 5.0L Coyote blocks are no longer available from Ford. RPG now uses the Gen 3 Coyote block, configured with an 11:1 compression ratio to match the factory Gen 1 and Gen 2 specifications.

The Gen 3 block is fully compatible with both Gen 1 and Gen 2 cylinder heads and timing components, but matching-generation head gaskets must be used with the corresponding cylinder heads.

  • Example: Gen 3 short block with Gen 1 heads requires Gen 1 head gaskets.

Head Fastener Note: You must use 12mm long head studs or OEM Gen 3 head bolts. Later Gen 1 or Gen 2 studs/bolts will not fit this block.
